Picture 220.jpgVac Trailer Pumping Out89 viewsHere is one of the trailer being emptied under pressure. Note the hose off the blower connected to the exhaust side. We keep the pop off valve set to about 12 PSI for this job, anything higher sometimes causes the engine to stall.

Picture 094.jpgPump Setup148 viewsThis is the vac pump assembly and 11hp Honda engine. The vac pump assembly was built by Novatec for use in moving plastic pellets in an injection molding plant. It was originally powered by a 5hp 3 phase electric motor and operated at about 3 inches of vacuum at 150 cfm. We removed all the electric parts and controls then added a 11hp Honda gas engine. Also modified the bypass valve so to increase the vacuum to 22 inches, and added a pop off valve on the exhaust side to control pressure.

Picture 128.jpgVac Trailer111 viewsThe vac trailer consists of a home built dual axle trailer, modified 500 gallon propane tank, 2 inch dia 175 cfm Roots Dresser blower assembly and 11 hp gas powered Honda engine. Tank as an upper and lower 2 inch dia ports with SS ball valves. This allows for easy filling from the top without mixing up the oil, then connecting to the bottom to empty out under pressure.

Picture 182.jpgPump Mounted Gauge111 viewsThis gauge is mounted on the blower assembly. We added the 1/2 inch valve as a bypass for starting the motor while the main tank is under vacuum and the main tank valve is closed. To switch to pressure, we disconnect from the air filter assembly and connect it to the muffler on the exhaust side. All hose connection use 2 inch cam lock couplers for quick changing from vacuum to pressure.

Picture 068.jpg1200 Gallon Storage Tank127 viewsThis is one of our storage tanks setup with 2 inch quick couplers to connect to the vac trailer. Once filled we let the oil settle for a month or two, then remove good oil from the upper port on bottom. To remove the water and crud once settled, we use the bottom port only.
